The memorable Year of 2014 - A take-back to this eventful year

Hello everyone and welcome to my story time to conclude this year and to start the new one :) With this post I will talk about my year and let you have an insight in my special 2014 with some extracts. So lean back and I hope to entertain you with this special and private post.

The Events

Well, this year has been quite busy. Feel yourself as a part of a big time travel and let us begin from the start. I started well in this new year and celebrated my birthday at the 6th January with family and friends, same procedure as every year which is probably one of the best days every year. And then the hard last school year before my graduation came around. And things changed rapidly. I had to learn very much and was on constant stress. But I knew I wanted to get the graduation as good as I had wished for. I worked for my dream to change the school and start all over again. Now I have to say: It was worth the stress and effort I put in this whole thing. But we will talk about the finished result later in this post. Because I've learned so much and wasn't feeling well because of the stress, January and February went by quickly. So the winter (when you want to call it like that, even if it's not a winter-winter) went by and it began to change the season into spring, when March started. In March I was invited to the 18th Birthday Bash of one of my best friend Sabrina, which was a nice evening because I got to know many new people and had nice chats with them. So month went by and at my easter holiday I bought a new guinea pig for my little piggie boy. I found her (Tilda) at a club, which help homeless guinea pigs to find a new home. She's honestly the cutest piggie ever (beside Oskar).  Also I got to know the girlfriend of my big brother, who is more like a sister and I'm really glad to have her (I didn't really know on which point of 2014 we met or if it was late 2013, but she was one of the persons, who made my 2014). But now back to school: Things went more than serious. Week to week elapsed and it was the big moment, I had worked half 2014 for: My graduation (and as you can tell I was a nervous wreck). I was afraid of how the results could be but I gave my best. And finally things worked out. I was that good that I could change the school. I was probably the luckiest girl ever (apart from the other graduates). But between this glorious event (between the exams and the result day), there was the best day of my entire life: I finally got to see One Direction, my favourite band. And it was such a happy and overjoyed day! I will never forget seeing them live on stage with 5sos before (read more about that at my first post ever). Well and after that overexiciting event I created this little baby: The Bow. I'm so glad I did. Get to know you all and write posts is one thing I don't want to miss in my life anymore. As we are in summer now (I hope you come with the time) the big summer break was starting and with it the most realxed and happy time of the year. I got a new haircut and ombre hair, which I wanted for months, I attended a mini-job to get more money for my driver license, I went to a summer picnic night with family and friends, where I got to know one of my bestest friends now, I went to Barcelona, which was one of the most amazing cities I've ever seen (read about my two vacations in the #travellinto.. posts), I had a visit to a nice lil city with my best friend Damaris and her family, i went to London with Damaris, her and my mom, which always produces wanderlust, because it was love at first sight when I got there two years ago and also I went to the lake with my friends and had nice afternoons whilst swimming in the sun. As the summer came to an end it was time to get school supplies purchased, because I would walk into my new school for the first time eer . As you can tell I was really nervous but things went good. I made so many friends at such a short time and I'm sooo endlessly grateful for that. I could not wish for better classmates. Everything was so new, so I was really busy with school in autumn. And then it was time for another holiday and in this two weeks I visited my best friend Steffi and we had probably the best time ever whilst shopping, laughing, talking and hanging around. I was so happy to see her, after we hadn't seen each other for a long time. Well and now we are nearly at the present. Christmas Time went by as fast as anyone could realise that the most wonderful time of the year had begun. I had many exams in these weeks (also same procedure as every year),  but nevertheless went to the Christmas Market with Damaris, Olivia, Francisca and Juliane, which was a nice evening (even if we ate too much food).  At the first advent I went to see my sister with the orchestra, she is in, at a concert with amazing film songs. You have to know that she studies far away, so we don't see each other that often, so I was really happy to finallly see her after a long time. And here we are: at the now. I had a great Christmas Eve with my grandpa and grandma and my mother and after that a nice evening (or should we call it night) with friends. Today I will have a nice New Years Eve with my best friends (actually the Christmas market group). And then we will have a hopefully nice and awesome new 2015 with new wonderful memories.

The Movies
This year I watched many movies in the cinema, which I should mention now. I got to see "The Fault in our Stars" by John Green, which was super famous this year. The hype is totally worth every penny and I loved the book (I read before) as much as the movie (even though I had to cry). With Damaris I went to see "Saphirblau", which was also good (same deal: I read the book before watching the movie). I went to see One Direction's Concert Film, which took me back to the second of July (to my own awesome concert) and made me nearly cry beause of pride. Then I got to see Love, Rosie with  one of my new school friends, which was super-cute and maybe we fangirled a little bit about Sam Claflin?! (the dimples are fantastic) and last but not least me and a group of school friends saw the movie, the whole world was waiting for: The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part One (also read the triology) and it was thrilling and it was that intense that we couldn't stop thinking about the movie afterwards.

The Books
At this year I read quite a lot of books (I will not mention every single book but the most loved), to get myself relaxed at the study-free time. As mentioned before, I read the Hunger Games triology. So thrilling and it's a must to read as it been on the bestseller lists for month. I also read the Fault in our Stars, which was sad but wonderful written by one of the most in demand authors of today, John Green. Also read some Lauren Conrad ones, because they are great holiday readings and I love her story boards. Then I read the book to Love Rosie (Where Rainbows end), which was as cute as the film and very cool with the e-mail and letter form. Also read The Ingredients of Love by Nicolas Barreau, a great love story which is heart-warming.

The Trends
As this has been the year of the Kylie Jenner Lip (I honestly can't hear this descrption of the nude lip anymore), the Kimono, the sneaker flat, the poncho, the fedora hat, the bushy brows and the no makeup makeup look, I will show you now my fashion and beauty year in a short extract.

Trends 2014
Fashion
Well, I have been loving the sneaker flat in summer and for going out, because they are combineable with every clothes item and are absolutely comfortable as heaven. I got mine from Topshop.
I loved the skort, which I prefered with floral print and big buttons at the side.
My 2014 was the year of the basics. I learned that the more casual you look, you can combine it with something which is more a statement (like necklaces, bags...). I think I felt in love with Brandy and Melville and Topshop as well as Zara, more like a year before.
I also liked Cardigans which had a kimono cut and which you can combine with floral printed skirts.
One of the most amazing items I got was my Forever 21 dress, which I basically wore every day in summer.
I bought a fedora hat to wear it with a coat in winter and a big knitted scarf.
I finally got my Zara Mini City Bag in Black which is that classic that you can take it with you everywhere.

Make-up
I painted my nails more regularly. I tried out so many colours and got overexcited about the Essie ones, even if they are a little bit more expensive (but totally worth its money, because they last forever). I tried out more makeup bits. Started to contour my face shape and to use blush on top of it.  Created a makeup look for school which only takes 2 minutes in the morning (and which I can by heart, so that I could even do it when I sleep). Got the super-hyped Naked 3 from Urban Decay, which for I was searching Sephora in Barcelona for hours and finally got it. Tried out the nude lip, which I loved because I love natural makeup. Got overexcited about lip products and bought too much (you can never have enough lip products). Found the perfect lip balm for my dry lips which is basically every lip balm, which contains bee wax.
Urban Decay Naked 3, Bee Natural Lip Balm, Nuxe Reve de Miel, Mac Mocha, Sleek Contour Kit, Essie In Stitches, Essie Sand Tropez

Getting Ready for Christmas Eve | Makeup, Hair and Outfit #feelingChristmassy

Ho ho ho everyone :) Today there's the last part of my #feelingChristmassy series (can't believe we came to an end with it that quickly). In this post I will show you how I get ready for Christmas Eve. So lean back and feel inspired and I wish you lots of fun :).

Makeup

So first things first: Today I've started with a base to make my foundation last longer and to moisturise my face. This is the Effaclar Duo Cream from La Roche Posay, one of my favourites because it makes your skin look more evenly and conceals some blemishes.
Then I will continue with the base, which is this time the Catrice All Matt plus Foundation in 010 Light Beige (I think it's a great budget buy foundation but not matt at all, maybe it makes your face look more chewy what I really like). After that step I cover my blemishes and dark circles with the Pro Longwear Concealer from Mac in NC20, which stays forever but doesnt feel heavy at the skin at all.
I will then use my favourite Eye Shadow Base from Artdeco and then I will use my Naked2 Basics Palette, which is gorgeous! Here I use Skimp on the whole lid and in the innercorners and my brow bow. I then continue to use Cover all over the lid and blend it in the crease and to an triangle with my lid line. Over that I will use a little bit of Skimp too, to add a little highlight.
For brows I will brush my brows and use my newest discoverie which is the Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Brown, to make my brows bolder and to get them in shape.
Last two steps I will do with my face form is that I will contour my face withe the Contour Kit from Sleek and use a hint of Mac Mocha at the top of it.
Then I will use my favourite Mascara which is the Clinique High Impact Mascara to define my lashes and to give them more volume.
Last but not least: Nourishing the lips with the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm and complete it with the Kiko Velvet Matte Lipstick in 613 (as mentioned in my 10 thing I loved in the past two months.

Outfit
For the outfit I kept it simple with my new Asos Swing Dress which I'm in love with because it has a little turtleneck and three-quarters sleeves. It's so basic and just classic (unfortunately sold out :( ). Underneath I wore a thermo leggins (even if it's not cold where I live but just in case the weather decides to change its mood). Then I styled it with some Chelsea Boots from Tamaris I got from Zalando earlier this year. No accesoires needed, beacuse I wanted to keep it quite basic and simple as I will spend my Christmas Eve with my family.

Hair
For hair I washed my hair one day before, added some curl styling Spray from Goldwell, blow dryed it on top of my head, then braided my hair into a side tail fish braid, sprayed it with some hairspray from Balea (which absolutely do its job btw and is a bargain), the left it like that overnight, opened the braid on Christmas Day to get these no heat curls. After the last step I sprayed some hairspray on it (yes much hairspray was used to get this hairstyle, kinda felt like in the movie "Hairspray"). And last but not least the little Awesomness, because it couldn't be missing: a big Bow with a Scottish pattern.

So that was my post for today and I hope you enjoyed it :). At this point I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all my lovely followers on bloglovin (70 now) and to all the nice people, who leave such cute comments on my posts. I really do appreciate that and it makes feel like it's Christmas everyday. Thanks for cheering me up :) This wasn't the last post for this year, so I will see you again very soon with a little compilation of all memories from this year, to throwback time.

I wish you all a very merry Christmas with your loved ones and a great time,

So these were my wishes for Christmas (and also a little bit for my birthday at January). I know I will not get everything I showed you in this post, that's obvious. I'm grateful for every single present I get. It's good to have wishes and to wait for them to come true, so at the end the gladness is bigger when your wishes come true after a long time (talking about material wishes or other wishes and dreams you have in life). The most thing I'm looking forward is having a great Christmas evening with my family( because that's what Christmas is about). It's great to spend time with the family and chat together whilst listening to Christmas songs and eating Christmas cookies. I'm also a person, who likes to give away presents and to see the happy face expression when my friends and family unwrap their presents. Nothing can beat that moment.

My question to you:
What do you want for Christmas?
&
What are you most looking forward to when it comes to Christmas?

Have a nice weekend and don't forget to leave comments with your feedback,
Karina <3

The Holiday Hot Chocolate #feelingChristmassy

It's the most wonderful time of the year.... . It's all getting so christmassy right now with the Christmas market in my hometown and I'm currently listening to the chilly Christmas sounds (and maybe rocking around my room). As announced in my last post I will start a series with the title #feelingChristmassy, where I will post one post each week to give you the weekly potion of holly, jolly feeling to bring you into the Christmas spirit. Today I will show you the best hot chocolate, the world has ever seen (doubtless better than every beverage from Starbucks). So let's get started :)

First of all you will need this small amount of ingredients:

-300 ml of milk
-two pieces of white chocolate couverture
-one packaing of Swiss Hot Chocolate instant cocoa powder or some spoons of any other instant hot chocolate powder
-a little bit of cinnamon for the spice
-whipped cream for the topping
-also for topping: Chocolate sprinkles and ground bourbon vanilla

1. Mix the instant cacao powder with the milk and heat it on the cooker until the powder is completely dissolved in the milk.

2. Then cut the white chocolate couverture (the special ingredient) in small pieces and add it in the pot and mix it until it's melted.

3.Add in the cinnamon to add a special, christmassy spice to you Hot Chocolate (typically Christmas spice, which can not be missing). Don't forget to stir your ingredients to make sure that they don't get burnt. After that you take your pot from the plate and fill your finished Hot Chocolate in a cute Christmas mug.

4. Next step: decorating. It would look boring without a fancy topping. You can decorate it like you want to do, but I went for whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles with a hint of bourbon vanilla.

And trust me: It was delicious! Best Hot Chocolate in the world. So tasty and it really got me into the Christmas mood (maybe the hot chocolate plus watching Santa Clause). And et voila here is the result (you have to say: it looks amazing):

Question of today:
What do you think should not be missed at Christmas time?

Hope you liked this post and if you want to you can send me pictures from your "Holiday Hot Chocolate" via twitter (@_Karina_0601) if you try out the recipe :)

I'm really looking forward to your feedback and have a nice advent time and we will see us this weekend with 'My top decoration ideas' on Sunday,
Karina <3

The best 10 things from the past two month

Hello everyone! Today I will show you 10 items from all things fashion, beauty and lifestyle I loved most in October and November :) So just drink a cup of tea and cuddle up in your favourite blanket (like I'd do) and I wish you a happy time whilst reading this post :) P.S.: On bloglovin we are now 65, so thank u all for your support :)

First things first, I had a massive obsession with contouring this month. I liked that hint of colour in my face, just to add some definition to my face shape and to give it a bit of colour since it's autumn/winter and the sun doesn't show its face often. For bronzing I liked to use the Sleek Countour kit in light, which contains also a highlighter. This month I've used more the bronze shade and it's absolutely gorgeous! Very easy to blend in and not too dark. I use it on my cheeks (you all know the silly fish face) and at my neck and on the forehead.

When it comes to autumn, there is this one change in the makeup routine: to use darker, berry cheek colour (as mentioned in my autumn trends post). For that I loved Mac "Mocha",a matte blush, which is absolutely stunning! Very combineable with the bronzer. It's basically a  dark rosewood colour and fits perfectly in the colder month.

As you might know, I was away in my autumn break for a few days to visit my best friend Steffi (we made a lookbook, so check it out :) ). When we were shopping in her hometown we were at a store called "Kiko", which I absolutely love, because they have such nice beauty products and these for a low price, but with great quality. There I picked up a few things and bought probably one of the most beautiful lipsticks I've ever owned (you know I'm kinda lipstick obsessed). It's from their Velvet Mat range and it's the one in the shade 613 plus it was an absolutely bargain for 5 euros. The lipstick is a nude, slightly plum colour and smells very moisturising, what it absolutely is. It lasts very long and doesn't dry the lips. The packaging is also very fancy and luxury (yep packaging also gets me every time). Absolutely love it!

For eyeshadow I bought an cream eyeshadow stick from Nyx in the colour "Yoghurt", which is a champagney, rose colour on the lids and absolutely gorgeous! It's so easy to blend and you can combine it with other colours and use it as a base or just wear it without any other eyeshadow. It's such a beautiful colour and is perfect for a very fast school makeup. Also a budget buy.

From left to right: Sleek Bronzer from the Contour KIt in "Light",Nyx JUmbo Eye Pencil in "Yoghurt",Kiko Velvet Mat Lipstick in 613 and Mac "Mocha"

For fashion there was a massive favourite, I wore everyday. It's my new Zara scarf (or should I call it a blanket). It's made from a very soft material and because it's black with white caros, it's so basic that you can wear it with everything. An absolutely must-have in the colder days.

Some item I also loved to wear was a caro blouse with ruffles from Zara (maybe I was a little bit obsessed with caros and Zara?!). It has a very cute cut and has a dark blue and brown caro. Also very basic.

Last item is a black hat from Brandy and Melville. I've searched for a hat since ages! It took me so long to find a hat, which isn't much pricey (sorry but 45 euros for a hat weren't justified). And then I found a black hat for 18 euros at Brandy and Melville (one of my most favourite shop ever). The hat goes with simply everything and can revalue an outifit.

Continuing with lifestyle, I have to admit that I joined the club with one beverage. For sure it's the super-duper hyped Pumpkin Spiced Latte from Starbucks. I had pursue the trend and shared the PSL with Steffi on our succesful shopping day. You have to know I'm not the biggest coffee drinker (you know my love for teas), but this was surprisingly amazing! When you take the medium espresso, it's just a little bit what you taste from the espresso. Mostly it tastes like cinnamon and other spices. Definitely a taste worth!

Last weekend I tried the popular Lemon Drizzle Cake from Viviannadoesmakeup (my inspiration, she's so nice). And it went pretty well and tasted delicious (I couldn't stop eating it)! Perfect to eat for breakfast as a breakfast cake or at afternoon. Check her video about it out ->https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1z54UpordBM

And the best comes always at the end: If you don't know I'm a fangirl (a massive fangirl just saying) from One Direction. And if you are like me, you might realized that they were realeasing their new album "Four" on the 17th November. And how could it not be in my monthly faves? It's honestly sooo good and I can't stop listening to it. The songs are so relaxing (maybe the best album ever!) and I think my favourite songs are "Act my age", "Girl Almighty" and "Ready to run". I'm so proud of the boys! They did great work like always! I'm a fan since 2012 and I will be till the end, because they are the best band on this planet. I can't wait to see them again soon and to see them perform the Four album on stage.

So here we are at the end of this post. I hope you liked it and don't forget to leave a comment. Here's a little announcement: I plan to do a Christmas series with the title #feelingChristmassy. So you will get one new blogpost every advent. I hope you will like it and are looking forward to it :)

My question today:
What have you been loving this month?

Have a great week and enjoy every moment of your life,
Karina <3
